Accordingly, the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Aviation confirmed that the ship arrived this morning with 1,894 tourists and 906 crew members.
A group of 159 tourists who boarded the ship have already left the port for Kandy, Pinnawala, Negombo and Ingiriya.
The 294-meter-long ship, owned by an American company, came from Thailand and is scheduled to leave for Dubai tonight, the ministry confirmed.
Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) said nearly 25,000 tourists have arrived in Sri Lanka in the first week of March, while a total of 234,547 tourists have arrived in the island so far in 2023.
Accordingly, between March 1 and March 6, Sri Lanka recorded a total of 24,363 tourists, most of whom were identified as Russian nationals.
