Sports, dance lessons among the AIDA activities
German shipping company AIDA Cruises will introduce new sports programs, creative workshops, puppet shows, dance classes and other activities for vacationing families, beginning with cruises that depart during the Easter holiday week. Guest artists will be on board select ships to direct the special program.
New sporting events include soccer workshops with the Unique Freestylers, who will entertain with acrobatics and teach soccer tricks and moves to youth and adults. The group will be on board the Easter Week voyages of the 2,050 guests AIDAdiva from April 6th to 14th from Hamburg to Warnemünde and the 3,300 guests AIDAprimaCruise from April 8th to 15th round trip from Hamburg.
For small children, two ships offer a puppet show with the classics “Der kleine Rabe Socke” and “Das Sams”. The shows are performed on the 6,654 guests AIDAnova from May 13th to 20th, when the ship sails from Hamburg to Kiel, and the 6,654 guests AIDAcosma on a series of 7 day trips in July and August, return trips from Palma de Mallorca.

Special rates, discounts for families
AIDA Cruises has special cruise prices and discounts for families traveling with children. Teenagers under 2 years of age travel for free and children between 2 and 15 years of age travel free of charge or at reduced rates in their parents’ cabin during certain seasons. Older children up to the age of 24 also receive a reduced fare if they share a parent’s cabin.
Children 15 and under in their own cabin are entitled to a 35% discount on the cruise fare, while children 16 to 24 years of age are entitled to a 25% discount. The cruise line has a variety of family-friendly cabins, including 3- and 4-bed cabins, as well as junior suites and suites. Some family cabins have connecting doors. The deluxe veranda cabin category can accommodate up to five people on some ships.
AIDA Cruises operates 12 ships, but the fleet will be reduced by one ship to 1,266 guests in September 2023 AIDAura, the smallest ship in the line, is retired from the fleet.
