Wilhelmsen Ship Management (WSM) has been awarded a contract to manage three liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunker tankers owned by Avenir LNG. Previously managed by Hoegh LNG, Avenir LNG decided to switch to WSM for ship management. Avenir LNG CEO Peter Mackey expressed confidence in WSM’s ability to deliver added value. This partnership marks a new milestone for Avenir LNG, which is a new customer for WSM.
WSM is a globally recognized ship management company, and Avenir LNG believes that their expertise will be crucial in the energy transition. Avenir LNG currently has five vessels in its fleet, with the most recent addition being the 20,000 cubic meter Avenir Achievement. The LNG bunker tankers play a pivotal role in the transportation and storage of LNG, which is an important fuel source in the shift towards cleaner energy.
This partnership between WSM and Avenir LNG highlights the growing importance of LNG as a fuel source and the need for efficient ship management in the energy transition. Avenir LNG’s decision to switch to WSM demonstrates their confidence in the company’s capabilities. With WSM’s global reach and expertise, they are well-positioned to support Avenir LNG in their mission to provide sustainable and efficient LNG solutions.
