Wind-assisted propulsion technology company bound4blue and OCEANKING, a ship supplier and services provider, are partnering to expand access to bound4blue’s eSAIL technology in Greece and Cyprus. The suction sail technology combines the qualities of wing sails and Flettner rotors to reduce fuel consumption and emissions whilst enabling ships to sail upwind with ease.
David Ferrer, CTO of bound4blue, said that the company is “delighted to be working with OCEANKING” in expanding its eSAIL operations into the two countries, adding that the organisations share a commitment to sustainability and innovation. “On the path to zero emissions, the Greek shipping industry needs proven and cost-effective technologies,” Carola Yannouli, general manager at OCEANKING added.
