One cruise passenger recently expressed frustration with the lack of staff in self-service laundry rooms aboard Carnival Valor. The guest suggested that crew members should remind passengers to set timers for their laundry to prevent items from being left unattended for hours. However, Carnival’s Brand Ambassador, John Heald, explained that it is not feasible to have staff stationed in the laundry rooms to monitor laundry activities.

While some guests agreed that signage or reminders could help improve the situation, others suggested integrating laundry timers into the Carnival Hub app. Despite differing opinions on how to address the issue, most respondents disagreed with the original poster’s decision to place clean laundry on the floor rather than on a nearby surface. It was noted that cruise ship laundry rooms are often small and may not have available tables for items to be placed on.

Not all cruise ships offer self-service laundry facilities, with some newer vessels like Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration, and Carnival Jubilee lacking these amenities. Guests who do not have access to self-serve laundry can utilize the ship’s laundry services for an additional fee. Some loyal Carnival guests at the Platinum or Diamond level may also enjoy complimentary wash-and-fold services as part of their loyalty program perks.
