Classnk grants Yusen “Innovation Validation”.

ClassNK granted Yusen Logistics the Class C Innovation Endorsement Provider certification.

ClassNK offers its third-party innovation attestation, Vendor Certification, to companies and organizations that support innovative initiatives. As companies pursue ESG-oriented management and SDGs, ClassNK conducts third-party certification on the initiatives to transform their own business methods and organizations to build a sustainable and competitive business.

Depending on the level of innovation activity, three certification categories are available to companies:

  • Class C (concept: organizational policy and system for innovation in place)
  • Class D (development: specific innovation activities are carried out)
  • Class S (Sustainable Implementation: Sustainable innovation with results implemented in the company)

Yusen Logistics aims to achieve net-zero emissions for all services by 2050 to realize sustainable growth and development for all stakeholders. As an interim goal, by 2030 it aims to start providing net-zero emissions services, covering the entire supply chain of customers including logistics, by developing solutions using digital technology.

The company established the “Corporate Sustainability Group” to comprehensively consider and visualize the best balance between the logistics business and the social problems of customers, and offer optimal solutions.

ClassNK conducted the review which focused on their policies, planning and organization to achieve sustainable growth of their group and stakeholders and then issued the Class C Innovation Endorsement Certificate for Providers as it was found that their organizational structure met the Class C phase requirements met.
