Indian Coast Guard’s Additional Director General K R Suresh recently visited Goa to review the operational readiness of afloat and air-borne platforms of the maritime security agency. During his visit, which took place from December 30, 2023, to January 2, 2024, Suresh also toured various ships and other establishments in the western state. According to an ICG spokesman, the ADG, who also serves as the Coast Guard Commander (Western Seaboard), interacted with Coast Guard troops to boost their morale.
In addition to reviewing the operational readiness of afloat and air-borne platforms, Suresh visited Goa Shipyard Limited, where he met with the chairman and managing director to assess the progress of ongoing projects for two Pollution Control Vessels and eight Fast Patrol Vessels. The visit aimed to ensure the preparedness and effectiveness of the Indian Coast Guard in safeguarding the country’s maritime interests.
