The Yacht Club de Monaco (YCM) and the International Electric Marine Association (IEMA) are joining forces to promote the latest advancements in electric marine propulsion technology at the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge 2024. This prestigious event will bring together top university teams to showcase their innovations in Monaco’s historic harbour. The partnership between YCM and IEMA aims to accelerate sustainable technologies in the marine mobility sector by leveraging their expertise and networks to drive awareness and focus attention on electric marine technologies, particularly those developed in university labs and technology departments.
Adria Jover, President of IEMA, expressed excitement about the collaboration with YCM for the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, highlighting their shared commitment to advancing sustainable practices in marine transportation. The annual event, part of the “Monaco Capital of Advanced Yachting” initiative, is scheduled from 1st to 6th July and aims to raise awareness of sustainability in the maritime industry and promote eco-friendly practices on the world’s oceans. Bernard d’Alessandri, General Secretary of YCM, emphasized the collaboration’s potential to drive positive change in the yachting sector and involve the new generation of engineers and industry players in creating a more sustainable future.
