COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers and COSCO SHIPPING Lines have taken further steps to promote blockchain-based electronic bills of lading (eBL) to offer customers a more personalized service experience.
COSCO SHIPPING Lines Qingdao released its first blockchain-based eBL on February 13, signaling the formal opening of the new cargo clearance route at the port of Qingdao in China.
The fully loaded COSCO SHIPPING Harmony arrived at Qingdao Qianwan West Port United Terminal on February 18.
After the ship’s arrival, the client completed the document exchange with the blockchain-based paperless container release application.
According to the Chinese company, it was also the first time in China that COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers achieved automated unloading of imported products, with the experimental plan being applied to pulp transportation for the first time.
