The Dakshin Bharat Gateway Terminal once again hosted MV superbly. MSC VIDHI with LOA 277m arrived from Tema / Ghana. MSC and DBGT’s tireless efforts to call at the port of Tuticorin during cashew season in West Africa have borne fruit with the addition of MV. MSC VIDHI and this would be considered a boon for raw cashew importers who can hoard their transshipment costs.
As usual, MSC is taking the lead in delivering as many ADHOC calls to DBGT to meet customer needs. By the way, this was the second call for MSC VIDHI at DBGT since she made her earlier call on March 20, 2022 during the last cashew season.
Tuticorin Port and DBGT in particular are always trying to encourage raw cashew imports as it is one of the most important import cargoes for the Tuticorin trading community. The prevailing VRC incentive scheme offered by VOCPA is one of the main motivating factors for the actors like MSC who initiate such ADHOC calls.
To commemorate the occasion, DBGT organized a low-key ceremony on board the ship, where a souvenir was presented to the ship’s captain. Terminal Management thanked MSC for valuable and aggressive support of the raw cashew trade by using larger ships directly from the port of origin.
MV. The MSC VIDHI has a capacity of 5770 TEU, comes directly from Tema / Ghana, with a total throughput of 615 crane moves in Tuticorin and is connected to Abu Dhabhi (UAE) as the next port. The ship arrived at DBGT on 03/15/2023 at 08:00 and moored there.
DBGT Management acknowledged the efforts of VOC Port Authority, MSC Agency (India) Pvt. ltd and the DBGT team on this remarkable achievement.
