Explora Journeys, the luxury lifestyle ocean travel brand of the MSC Group, has announced the successful completion of sea trials for its newest ship, Explora II. This vessel is the second of six luxury ships being built for Explora Journeys by Fincantieri in Italy. Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, Explora II boasts a gross tonnage of 63,900, an LOA of 248 meters, a beam of 32 meters, and 461 all-balcony guest cabins across 14 decks, including an owner’s residence with 280 square meters of space.

The onboard facilities of Explora II include restaurants, bars, lounges, boutique shops, spa rooms, wellness facilities, and pools. The vessel is equipped with environmentally friendly features such as selective catalytic reduction technology, shore power plug-in connectivity, and noise management systems to protect marine life. Explora II will commence Western Mediterranean itineraries this summer, with stops in Portofino, Porto Cervo, St-Tropez, Calvi, Mahon, and Monte Carlo, departing from Barcelona and Civitavecchia near Rome.
