The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) highlighted the UAE’s efforts to deliver relief aid to the northern Gaza Strip through the “Amalthea” maritime corridor. The Ministry praised the leadership of Cyprus, World Central Kitchen, and international partners for their crucial role in strengthening humanitarian response in the region. It emphasized the need for a collective international approach to address the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza and ensure the safe and sustainable delivery of aid to innocent civilians.
The UAE’s commitment to the Palestinian people was demonstrated through the delivery of 21,000 tonnes of urgent supplies, including food, water, and medical items. This aid was transported through various means, including flights, airdrops, trucks, and ships. The UAE also initiated sustainable relief projects and provided medical care to Gaza civilians through a field hospital in the southern Gaza Strip and a floating hospital in Egypt’s Al-Arish Port.
The Ministry reaffirmed that the maritime corridor is part of a broader effort to increase the flow of humanitarian aid and commercial goods to Gaza. The UAE’s ongoing support for the Palestinian people and its dedication to implementing humanitarian initiatives underscore its commitment to alleviating the suffering of those in need. The country’s proactive approach in delivering aid and providing medical assistance reflects its strong commitment to humanitarian relief efforts in the region.
