Cure Marine, a boat-building company based on the Sunshine Coast, recently launched the ‘Cure Custom 70’, a groundbreaking 70-foot all-carbon fibre catamaran named ‘Noir’. This vessel, the first of its kind built in Australia in the last five years, represents a significant advancement in the global boat-building industry. Designed for sailing, diving, and family adventures, the catamaran features four queen-size cabins and six built-in fridges, showcasing Cure Marine’s commitment to innovation.
Crafted in Cure Marine’s state-of-the-art facility in Coolum Industrial Estate, the ‘Cure Custom 70’ benefits from the southern hemisphere’s largest 3D printer, which reduced tooling and prototype production times. CEO Carl Bird highlighted the launch as the start of a new chapter for the company, emphasizing its dedication to innovation and its strengthened position in the boat-building sector. The Sunshine Coast Council praised Cure Marine’s achievement for its contribution to the region’s economic development and job market.
Looking towards further expansion, Cure Marine is preparing for new ranges and a state-of-the-art facility in 2024. The company is actively seeking skilled individuals for future projects, emphasizing its ongoing contribution to the local job market and the broader maritime industry.
