‘Beetlejuice’ coming too Norwegian Viva
The hit Broadway production of “Beetlejuice” The Musical will make its first sea debut aboard Norwegian Cruise Line Norwegian Viva as part of the wide range of entertainment on offer in the new building.
The 90-minute adaptation is presented as a narration of history chronicling the Deetz family’s efforts to remodel a haunted house, complete with paranormal antics and plenty of special effects.

Norwegian Cruise Line’s new President, David J. Herrera, said: “NCL has a long history of pioneering the cruise experience and delivering the high-quality entertainment that our guests have come to expect. The cruise line said the lavish production is sure to charm and captivate guests, as the cast dance and sing to the show’s famous Broadway tunes.

Also, Michelle D’Amico, who starred in the Broadway production, will take on the role of Lydia The Norwegian viva First production of the musical.
Richard Ambrose, Norwegian Cruise Line’s senior vice president of entertainment and cruise programming, added: “We pride ourselves on not only providing theater fans with fantastic performances, but also introducing guests to shows of Broadway and West End caliber, set against the incredible backdrop of the Viva Theater & Club, which seamlessly transitions from a best-in-class theatrical experience to to a sprawling nightclub.”

Norwegian Viva also offers a live game show experience with the first “Press Your Luck LIVE” show at sea. The show invites the audience to be part of the action and win prizes. The show follows the successful launch of The Price is Right LIVE aboard the sister ship Norwegian primawhen she debuted in August 2022.
Other entertainment options on board Norwegian Viva includes Ocean Music Fest, a jam session concert, comedy club Improv @ Sea and Syd Norman’s Pour House, a series of rock and roll tributes to Fleetwood Mac, the Rolling Stones and other top artists .
The ship will feature six restaurants as well as the Indulge Food Hall, an upscale food market with 11 unique restaurants and five bars and lounges. Thrill-seekers can try Viva Speedway, a three-story racetrack, and The Drop and The Rush, a 10-story free-fall dry slide, among others.
Ship launches in summer 2023
The 142,500 gross tonne vessel, being built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy, will carry 3,219 guests. The ship was swam out of dry dock on August 2, 2023marks the completion of the exterior construction.
Following Norwegian Vivas Debuting in August, the ship will operate a series of 8, 9 and 10 day Mediterranean voyages from Lisbon, Portugal; Venice and Rome, Italy; and Athens, Greece.
On November 16, 2023, the ship is scheduled to begin its first transatlantic crossing, departing from Lisbon on an 11-day voyage to New York and calling at Madeira, the Azores and Bermuda. The ship is scheduled to call at its homeport in San Juan, Puerto Rico during the winter of 2023-24 and will offer a range of 7- and 9-day Caribbean itineraries.
Norwegian Viva is the second of six planned Prima-class ships. The ship will feature seven suite categories: Interior, Studio, Ocean View, Suite, Club Balcony Suite and The Haven, the line’s suite exclusive ship-within-a-ship retreat. Norwegian Viva will offer 107 suites at The Haven, where guests will have access to a private sundeck, infinity pool, spa and other luxurious amenities.
