IMO-WISTA Women in Maritime Survey: Deadline Approaching

The deadline for the 2024 IMO-WISTA Women in Maritime Survey is fast approaching, with only two weeks left to participate before it closes on December 31. This survey aims to provide a global overview of gender diversity in the maritime industry, showcasing the progress made by Member States and maritime companies since the last survey in 2021. All types of maritime companies and organizations are encouraged to take part, including shipowners, port operators, law firms, insurers, marketers, small to medium businesses, and sole traders.

A diverse range of contributions is crucial for accurate and representative results, so sharing the survey link within networks is highly recommended to ensure regional and sub-sector representation. Participants will be asked to provide data on workforce demographics, such as gender, age, and leadership roles, as well as information on workplace policies affecting gender equality, focusing on data from 2023. The survey results are scheduled to be released on May 18, 2025, in conjunction with the International Day for Women in Maritime, offering valuable insights for policymakers, industry leaders, and advocacy groups striving to promote equal opportunities for women in maritime careers.
