The India Coast Guard recently conducted two successful rescue operations to save stranded individuals in separate incidents. On May 19, the ICG rescued 24 passengers and 2 crew members from the tourist ferry boat Nerul Paradise near Mormugao Harbour, Goa, which was stuck due to harsh weather conditions and running out of fuel. Earlier, on May 7, a critically-ill fisherman from the Indian Fishing Boat Jazeera was saved by the ICG after falling into the sea, suffering from water entering his lungs.
In response to distress calls, the ICG efficiently mobilized its resources, including an Advanced Light Helicopter and medical team from Kochi, along with Aryaman & C-404 ships. The ICG promptly located the IFB and airlifted the patient to Kochi, from where he was further transferred to a nearby hospital for proper medical care. These timely and effective rescue operations highlight the dedication and preparedness of the India Coast Guard in saving lives and ensuring the safety of individuals in distress at sea.
The incidents showcase the important role played by the India Coast Guard in responding to emergencies at sea and providing assistance to vessels in distress. Through coordinated efforts and swift response, the ICG successfully rescued all individuals involved, demonstrating their commitment to protecting maritime interests and ensuring the safety of those at sea.
