Danish maritime digitalization company Danelec and e-navigation software supplier NAVTOR have joined forces to enhance maritime operations digitalization. By integrating Danelec’s high-frequency data collection infrastructure, Danelec Collect, with NAVTOR’s Digital Logbook solution, the collaboration aims to streamline onboard data collection and automated record-keeping. This integration allows NAVTOR’s Digital Logbooks to automatically populate logbook entries with data collected by Danelec’s onboard solution, powered by the Vessel Remote Server (VRS), reducing manual input and enhancing data accuracy.
The partnership between Danelec and NAVTOR aims to reduce the administrative burden on crew members and ensure operational insights are readily available both onboard and onshore. Claus Borum, EVP Ship Performance / CTO at Danelec, highlighted the benefits of integrating Danelec Collect with NAVTOR’s class-approved Digital Logbooks in improving operational efficiency. The latest update to NAVTOR’s Digital Logbooks, version 2.4, offers expanded integration capabilities, improved user interfaces, and support for portable and desktop devices.
The enhanced NAVTOR Digital Logbooks now feature an upgraded Navbox API for automatic data transfer and alerts, new homepages for quick event entries, and advanced validation and alert features to streamline compliance and reduce the risk of errors. This integration of Danelec’s high-frequency data collection infrastructure with NAVTOR’s Digital Logbook solution represents a significant step forward in advancing maritime operations digitalization. By automating data collection and record-keeping processes, the collaboration between Danelec and NAVTOR aims to improve operational efficiency and data accuracy in the maritime industry.
