The OPTS is a system designed by PALFINGER for efficient and safe transfer of people and cargo between offshore installations such as wind turbines and drilling platforms and vessels. To meet the growing market of offshore transfer systems, PALFINGER has been working on an updated version of the OPTS with an enhanced design and functions. The new OPTS will be revealed exclusively at Nor-Shipping 2023 in Oslo, Norway. PALFINGER currently has three units of the system in production, with the first unit expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2024.

The OPTS is a 3D compensated system that can be installed on crew transfer vessels (CTV), service operation vessels (SOV), or permanently on a vessel. It has a SWL of 600 kg and a cargo lift capacity of up to 1000 kg and meets the norms for offshore gangways and offshore cranes. The state-of-the-art system is an excellent tool for servicing offshore installations and performing decommissioning work offshore.

PALFINGER sees the OPTS as a demonstration of their innovational strength and complete solution provider status. With the new OPTS, PALFINGER aims to support infrastructure developments in the offshore wind sector and decommissioning activities in the oil and gas industry. The company believes that Nor-Shipping 2023 is the ideal platform to showcase this latest innovation to key decision-makers in the maritime industry.

Nor-Shipping is one of the most significant trade fairs for the European shipping market, with around 1,000 leading companies showcasing their latest innovations. The event provides an opportunity for PALFINGER to exchange ideas with customers and partners, provide future-focused concepts, and shape the industry together. Visitors to Nor-Shipping 2023 can visit the PALFINGER MARINE booth D03-37 for further information, and the company website for more details.
