The Kingston Harbour in Jamaica was the scene of a police investigation into the death of a Ukrainian man on a container ship. The deceased, identified as 47-year-old Manzhos Yuriy, was the chief engineer of the ship and was found dead in his living quarters by a member of the crew. He was found partially dressed and lying on his back across his bed, motionless and foaming at the mouth. Law enforcement officers boarded the vessel, called ‘Crystal A’, and found Yuriy shirtless and clad in black and grey short pants. Despite no visible marks of violence, several blood spots were observed on the lower posterior, synonymous with lividity.
The circumstances surrounding the death of Manzhos Yuriy, including the cause of death, are currently under investigation by the Newport West police. The deceased was a resident of Nikolacv, southern Ukraine, and his death on the container ship has raised questions and concerns. The police have not released any further details about the ongoing investigation, and it is unclear whether foul play is suspected in this case. The discovery of the deceased chief engineer has prompted a thorough examination of the ship and its crew to determine the cause of Yuriy’s untimely death.
