Kongsberg and BMA Technology Collaborate on Electrical Systems

Norwegian company Kongsberg Maritime has formed a strategic collaboration alliance with BMA Technology to provide low-voltage electrical products and engineering services to Turkish shipyards. BMA Technology, based in Istanbul, specializes in electrical system solutions for the marine industry. As part of the agreement, BMA Technology will manufacture and test Kongsberg Maritime’s low voltage electrical products in its facility in Türkiye. They will also provide engineering support and perform commissioning work at local shipyards, working alongside the Kongsberg Maritime team in Istanbul. This alliance aims to provide advanced electrical propulsion solutions directly to shipyards and offers the benefit of a skilled local team working closely with shipbuilders.

Knut Ivar Dybdal, Senior Vice President from Kongsberg Maritime, expressed his excitement about the alliance, stating that it will transform the way they provide support and supply electrical products to Turkish shipyards. He also mentioned the importance of evolving their range of products and services as the shipping industry moves towards more electrification of vessels. Ferhat Özdamar, Chairman of Board of BMA Technology, also expressed his contentment with the partnership, highlighting the opportunity to deliver cutting-edge solutions to both local and global markets. This collaboration between Kongsberg Maritime and BMA Technology is expected to bring innovative electrical system solutions to the marine industry.
