Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) and the maritime industry have achieved a significant milestone with the safe arrival of the MSC HAMBURG, the longest vessel ever to call an Indian port. The MSC HAMBURG is a Container Ship built in 2015 and sails under the flag of Panama. It has a carrying capacity of 16,652 TEUs and a length overall (LOA) of 399 meters. This achievement is a testament to the professionalism and expertise of the crew involved in navigating and managing the vessel’s operations.

As an important gateway for international shipments, JNPA plays a crucial role in strengthening global supply chains. The arrival of the MSC HAMBURG further enhances the port’s capabilities in meeting the growing demands of trade. Shri Sanjay Sethi, Chairman of JNPA, expressed his happiness and stated that this achievement symbolizes the strength of their maritime capabilities and infrastructure in facilitating seamless trade and commerce. In commemoration of the call of MSC HAMBURG, a plaque was presented to the Master of the vessel on behalf of Shri Sanjay Sethi, Chairman of JNPA, and Shri Unmesh Sharad Wagh, Deputy Chairman of JNPA. This achievement not only reaffirms JNPA’s position as a key global player but also signifies their commitment to collaboration and continuous improvement.

The safe arrival of the MSC HAMBURG at the JNPA terminal marks a significant achievement for both the port and the maritime industry.
