In a remarkable event for European maritime tourism, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises celebrated a rare double call in Lisbon, Portugal, featuring its luxury vessels, Europa 2 and Europa. This unique occurrence, shared widely on social media, provided guests an exceptional experience, highlighting the cultural and scenic appeal of Portugal’s capital. The simultaneous docking of both ships at the Lisbon Cruise Terminal underscored the city’s significance as a key gateway for voyages connecting Europe, North America, the Caribbean, and Africa.
The Europa 2 began its 11-night journey towards the Canary Islands and Morocco after an overnight stay in Lisbon, allowing passengers to explore the city’s rich history and vibrant culture. Following Lisbon, the ship will visit various destinations, including Agadir and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, before embarking on a trans-Atlantic route to Willemstad, Curaçao. This repositioning is part of its upcoming winter season operations across North America and the Caribbean.
Meanwhile, the Europa continued its extended voyage from Hamburg, encompassing a 16-night itinerary that includes stops in Belgium, the UK, France, and Morocco. This route not only enhances cultural immersion for guests but also prepares the ship for its future operational plans. Additionally, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises announced plans to introduce bilingual services across its fleet in early 2026, aiming to better accommodate international travelers and strengthen its position in the premium cruise market.
