Newfoundland and Labrador’s cruise ship industry is experiencing a remarkable boom, with projections for 2025 already looking promising. According to Cruise Newfoundland and Labrador, over 100,000 cruise passengers visited the province last year, with more than 180 ships docking at 24 destinations, including rural areas beyond major ports like St. John’s and Corner Brook. Managing director Katelyn Budgell noted that the season was record-breaking, especially with new ports like Trinity and Bonavista receiving certification to welcome cruise ships.

The cruise season commenced in January with a ship arriving in Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, marking the longest season in the province’s history, spanning from March to October. Corner Brook also reported its longest season, welcoming 24 ship calls and over 30,000 passengers. This expansion highlights Newfoundland and Labrador’s potential as a year-round cruise destination.
