The Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) recently organized a distinctive Garba event to celebrate Operation Sindoor, highlighting a pivotal moment for the maritime sector in alignment with India’s ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative. DPA Chairman Sushil Kumar Singh praised the operation’s success, underscoring its importance in reaffirming India’s presence on the global maritime stage.
Operation Sindoor, executed by the Indian Army several months ago, showcased India’s dedication to self-reliance, marked by the sacrifices of numerous soldiers. Singh emphasized that this initiative resonates with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, stating, “Ports and sea trade are critical to our self-reliant initiative.”
To further this mission, the DPA recently partnered with IIT BHU to conduct a workshop titled ‘Hydrogen – Next Generation Fuel.’ This event, held at the DPA’s Centre of Excellence in Gandhidham, highlighted the crucial role of collaboration among ports, academia, and industry in promoting a sustainable maritime future.
The workshop focused on the potential of hydrogen as a clean fuel and its significance in achieving India’s Net Zero 2050 targets. It attracted attention from major ports, industry leaders, and experts, emphasizing the importance of innovative partnerships in advancing greener maritime solutions.
