The Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) in Kandla kicked off the 55th National Safety Week, which runs from March 12 to 18, 2026, by re-committing to safety and responsibility. The event was officially launched by Deputy Chairman Shri Nilabhra Dasgupta, who illuminated a ceremonial lamp. Esteemed attendees included Shri J.K. Rathod, Chief of Port Engineering Services, and other senior officials, port users, employees, and laborers.

During this week-long event, the DPA introduced its Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) booklet focused on “Handling Different Types of Cargo.” The publication serves to strengthen the authority’s dedication to fostering a safe and secure maritime environment.
