Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal announced on Wednesday that the proposed bilateral free trade agreement between India and New Zealand aims to enhance trade and investment relations. He emphasized that this agreement would signal to the global community the strengthened ties between the two nations.

Speaking at a press conference in Auckland alongside New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, Goyal detailed the mutual benefits of the agreement. He pointed out that New Zealand could leverage India’s vast market, while India stands to gain from New Zealand’s innovative advancements.

Goyal also underscored potential areas for deeper collaboration, including maritime, aerospace, and defense sectors. Additionally, he highlighted opportunities in education, sports, and tourism, which could further broaden the partnership between India and New Zealand.
