The discussions, co-chaired by Rear Admiral Srinivas Maddula and Rear Admiral Ruwan Rupasena, aimed to reinforce established partnerships and explore collaborative security measures.

During his previous visit in September, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi highlighted the strategic and cultural ties between the two nations. He emphasized the need for credible maritime capabilities, deeper cooperation, and technological advancements in addressing global maritime challenges, including anti-piracy operations and drug interdictions. Events like the Goa Maritime Symposium and SLINEX play crucial roles in fostering shared capabilities.
