The Ministry has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) to create a Digital Centre of Excellence (DCoE) aimed at transforming the Indian maritime sector. This initiative focuses on enhancing digital capabilities, fostering innovation, and modernizing the port and shipping industries through advanced IT solutions.

In a related effort, the government has launched the SAGAR SETU platform to improve operational efficiency and productivity within Indian ports and the shipping sector. This platform streamlines EXIM services, significantly reducing documentation time for vessels and cargo by promoting faster, paperless processes.

Additionally, to establish a consistent framework for Major Port Tariffs, the government has introduced a standardized Scale of Rates (SOR) template. This new system aims to provide clear definitions and conditions, creating a uniform structure for categorizing port services and ensuring transparency in tariff presentation.
