Digitalization and future-ready shipping are core strategies of India’s maritime policy, as highlighted by the Union Minister. Collaboration with UAE and Singapore to establish Virtual Trade Corridors aims to streamline cargo movement seamlessly.
During the SMW event, Sonowal expressed India’s commitment to a collaborative and prosperous maritime future rooted in ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. By partnering with Singapore and other global allies, India aims to drive innovation and collective action for a resilient maritime ecosystem. Discussions with Singaporean leaders and plans for investments in logistics, port connectivity, and trade facilitation underscore India’s ambition to enhance its global shipbuilding rank and cargo share by 2047. The focus is also on developing green port infrastructure and promoting low-emission shipping through initiatives like the Green Hydrogen Hub Ports.
