VOC Port has officially launched the development of its new Multi-Cargo Berth No. 10, marked by a groundbreaking ceremony attended by Chairperson Susanta Kumar Purohit and senior officials.
The new berth will extend 445 meters with a draft of 10 meters, dredged to 15.5 meters, enabling it to accommodate vessels up to 125,000 DWT. Additionally, a 7.4-hectare backup yard with heavy-duty pavement is set to be established, streamlining cargo operations.
Slated for completion by November 30, 2026, this project is poised to enhance VOC Port’s cargo handling capacity significantly. It will solidify the port’s status as a key multi-cargo gateway in India’s maritime sector.
This development marks a strategic move for VOC Port, reflecting ongoing efforts to improve maritime infrastructure in the region.
