Odisha has been awarded the Best Stall Award at the ongoing India Maritime Week (IMW) 2025 in Mumbai. The accolade was presented on Thursday by Sarbananda Sonowal, the Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways. This recognition highlights the state’s innovative approach to maritime development.
The stall, organized by the commerce and transport department along with the Odisha Maritime Board, showcased the theme “Odisha – Voyage of Heritage and Hope.” It effectively illustrated the state’s maritime journey, emphasizing its historical Boita Bandana traditions while also addressing modern advancements in port-led development and blue economy initiatives.
Visitors were drawn to the stall’s captivating design and storytelling, which underscored Odisha’s significant role in India’s maritime evolution. A government statement remarked, “This accolade underscores Odisha’s commitment to blending heritage with innovation, paving the way for a prosperous maritime future.”
