The Indian Maritime Centre (IMC), in partnership with the Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations in India (FFFAI), held a road show on September 25, 2025, in Mumbai, titled “Navigating Change: Redefining India’s Trade & Logistics Amid Geopolitical Disruptions.” This event was part of government-backed road shows leading up to India Maritime Week 2025.
Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal was the chief guest, highlighting the government’s initiatives over the past 11 years that have spotlighted the logistics sector. He praised FFFAI and IMC for organizing the road show, emphasizing its significance in navigating India’s global trade role against a backdrop of geopolitical changes. Sonowal also outlined the Prime Minister’s vision for substantial investments to develop India’s maritime capabilities, encouraging attendees to take part in India Maritime Week, scheduled for October 27-31, 2025.
Devki Nandan, Chairman of IMC, discussed India’s strong economic foundations and recent government reforms that support maritime growth. He also introduced the IMC’s achievements and its contributions toward the Maritime India Vision 2030 and Maritime Amrit Kal Vision 2047. Capt. Vikas Vij, Director of IMC, addressed maintaining robust trade flows amid geopolitical challenges.
Other speakers included the newly elected FFFAI Chairman Amit Kamat and Vice Chairman Shankar Shinde, among others, with many delegates from across India in attendance.
