ABB and Wallenius Marine have launched a joint venture in Stockholm to enhance their OVERSEA™ collaboration, aimed at providing advanced vessel performance management solutions. This initiative, which began in September 2022, combines ABB’s expertise in ship technologies with Wallenius Marine’s fleet management knowledge. OVERSEA™ offers a digital solution and fleet-support-center-as-a-service, helping maritime operators improve efficiency and sustainability.
The OVERSEA™ platform utilizes ABB Genix™ Industrial IoT and AI Suite, integrating industrial analytics and artificial intelligence to deliver actionable insights. It gathers data from vessels globally, with shore-based experts offering tailored recommendations from the Fleet Support Center in Stockholm. This approach enables operators to implement operational changes that reduce fuel consumption and emissions while enhancing safety and reliability.
Johan Mattsson, CEO of Wallenius Marine, emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation and responsiveness to industry needs through this partnership. Tomas Arhippainen from ABB highlighted the venture as a significant milestone, enabling customers to translate data into sustainable performance improvements, thereby enhancing energy efficiency and operational safety across their fleets.
