Saipem has introduced the LiSa Hyper Harness, an advanced safety harness featuring sensors and artificial intelligence aimed at improving worker safety during height-related tasks. This innovative device actively monitors how workers connect to fall protection systems and promptly alerts both the user and a supervisor if the connection is either absent or incorrect. The harness emits an audible warning akin to a car seatbelt reminder and automatically notifies a central monitoring platform for swift intervention.

The LiSa Hyper Harness is part of a connected system that gathers and analyzes data on its usage to enhance safety outcomes over time, fostering a culture of responsible working practices. This initiative marks a significant step towards improving operational safety standards in hazardous environments.

Developed in collaboration with Italian partners Confezioni Mario De Cecco, responsible for distribution, and R13 Technology, a tech startup, the harness integrates Saipem’s engineering expertise with external innovation. Production is currently underway, with plans for a gradual rollout across Saipem’s global worksites as part of the company’s Strategic Safety Plan.

Saipem also envisions extending the use of this harness beyond its projects by partnering with clients and stakeholders, thereby reinforcing safety measures for workers engaged in high-risk activities.
