Australian authorities have seized nearly A$9 million ($6 million) worth of cocaine hidden in a refrigerated shipping container at Port Botany, New South Wales. The Australian Border Force (ABF) officers identified the suspicious consignment and conducted an x-ray examination, revealing anomalies in the container’s rear.

Upon further inspection, officers discovered 22 individually wrapped blocks totaling approximately 27kg. Presumptive tests confirmed the presence of cocaine, and tracking devices were also found among the packages. This seizure is significant, as it could potentially lead to around 135,000 street-level deals.

Since October 2025, ABF officers have intercepted about 145kg of cocaine concealed in refrigerated containers. The success of these operations highlights Australia’s robust collaboration with national and international law enforcement agencies, which is crucial in disrupting criminal networks attempting to flood the country with illicit drugs.
