Miros and Marine Technologies (MT) have entered a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to integrate advanced marine sensing technologies with MT’s vessel control and smart-ship systems. This partnership aims to combine Miros’ expertise in real-time ocean sensing, wave and current monitoring, and oil spill detection with MT’s capabilities in offshore vessel control and dynamic positioning systems.
The agreement, which involves no financial commitments, sets the stage for future collaborations in optimizing vessel performance and enhancing offshore wind operations. Marius Five Aarset, CEO of Miros, expressed optimism about the transformative potential of the partnership, emphasizing their joint mission to enhance safety and sustainability in offshore operations.
MT, affiliated with Edison Chouest Offshore, supports a fleet of around 300 vessels primarily in the Gulf of Mexico and Brazil. As part of the MoU, Miros’ Wavex systems will be pre-installed within MT’s dynamic positioning systems, and MT will distribute Miros’ WaveSystem and Oil Spill Detection technologies globally.
Both companies are eager to develop applications for vessel performance analytics and offshore wind operations, highlighting the significant potential of integrating real-time sea-state data with dynamic positioning systems.
