Kongsberg Maritime has unveiled two new sizes in its Underwater Mountable, Permanent Magnet (UUC PM) azimuth thruster range, enhancing its propulsion solutions for demanding offshore and marine operations. The latest UUC PM 405 model includes units with propeller diameters of 3.8 m and 4.1 m, providing thrust capabilities of 86 and 91 metric tons, respectively. This expansion aligns with the company’s strategy to cater to the evolving needs of the offshore energy sector.

Looking ahead, Kongsberg Maritime plans to further extend the UUC PM range, with future models expected to feature propeller diameters up to 5.5 m and power ratings reaching 6000 kW. This initiative aims to support larger vessels and more complex applications within the industry. The UUC PM thruster design facilitates easy underwater installation and removal, significantly minimizing vessel downtime and maintenance costs.
