Centus Marine has launched its second hybrid propulsion fast crew boat (FCB), Centus Alesha, from Strategic Marine in Singapore. This new vessel aims to enhance sustainability in offshore operations by significantly reducing fuel consumption and emissions during crew transfers to installations off Sarawak, Malaysia. Designed in partnership with Centus, Centus Alesha combines performance, reliability, and safety while contributing to a greener fleet in the offshore energy sector.

Derick Soo, General Manager of Centus Marine, emphasized that the launch marks a significant advancement in their decarbonization efforts. The vessel will operate from Bintulu, Sarawak, replacing helicopters for personnel and small cargo transfers, thereby improving operational efficiency.

Both Centus Alesha and the previously launched hybrid FCB feature gyro-stabilization technology, enhancing stability and safety in challenging offshore environments. Centus Marine is licensed by Petronas to operate approximately 20 FCBs, facilitating crew transfers to offshore installations managed by major oil companies and Petronas.

This initiative reflects Centus Marine’s commitment to sustainable practices in the maritime industry, aligning with broader environmental goals.
