India and Saudi Arabia have established a Joint Working Group (JWG) focused on maritime cooperation in shipping and logistics, a move designed to bolster bilateral relations in the sector. This decision emerged from a high-level virtual meeting between India’s Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser.
The JWG aims to enhance collaboration in areas like maritime trade, port infrastructure, and logistics, paving the way for new growth opportunities. Officials highlighted that this initiative marks a significant advancement in the strategic partnership between the two countries, which have a solid foundation in energy and trade relations.
