Evac Group has introduced the Dehydro waste management system, specifically designed for smaller vessels. Unlike traditional onboard waste systems that require high volumes of wet waste to be cost-effective, the Dehydro system utilizes dehydration technology to make onboard waste treatment viable for smaller ships. This reduces the need for overboard discharge or costly offloading to land-based facilities, significantly decreasing waste volume and helping vessels meet environmental standards in a cost-effective manner.

The Dehydro system can reduce wet waste volume by approximately 80% through its dehydration process, converting wet waste into a sterile, dry powder. This eliminates the need for additional treatment and simplifies offloading, making waste management easier and more cost-effective. The system is ideal for vessels producing between 50 and 1,000 kg of wet waste per day, including small merchant vessels, OSVs, ferries, passenger vessels, and large yachts.

With stricter regulations on waste disposal to protect marine ecosystems, the launch of the Dehydro system addresses the need for innovative waste management solutions for smaller vessels operating closer to shore. The system helps vessels comply with regulations such as MARPOL Annex IV and Annex V, EU waste management rules, and other local and national regulations.
