Development of Integrated Simulation Platform for Maritime Industry

The project titled "Development of Integrated Simulation Platform for Sustainable and Competitive Maritime Industry" has been selected as a research and development initiative under Japan’s K Program. This collaborative effort involves MTI Co., Ltd., part of the NYK Group, and several prominent organizations, including Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Co., Ltd., and various universities and research institutes.

With a budget of $82 million over five years, the project aims to advance the development of next-generation vessels using digital technology and high-precision environmental change prediction methods. This initiative aligns with the Japanese government’s goals to enhance ship design, construction capabilities, and ensure safe marine transportation.

Led by Hideyuki Ando, Director of MTI Co., Ltd., the project seeks to establish Japan as a leader in maritime technology through innovative research and cross-community collaboration. Participating organizations include a mix of industry leaders and academic institutions, all committed to achieving the project’s ambitious objectives.
