American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier (ARC) has announced a five-year agreement to implement the LifeFinder safety tech platform across its fleet of ten U.S.-flag roll-on/roll-off vessels. This initiative aims to enhance mariner safety and emergency response capabilities.
The decision comes after a successful year-long pilot on the M/V Patriot, during which ARC and LifeFinder collaborated to customize the platform for the vessel’s specific layout and operational needs.
The pilot program demonstrated that the onboard positioning and personnel locator devices significantly improve coordination during safety drills. This technology provides bridge and safety teams with immediate visibility into crew locations and statuses, facilitating more effective emergency responses.
Additionally, the system enhances reporting and post-incident analysis, promoting continuous improvement across the fleet. ARC’s commitment to safety innovation underscores its dedication to protecting its crew and ensuring operational efficiency.
