LR Collaborates to Boost Digitalization in Global Shipping

Lloyd’s Register (LR) has joined the DCSA+ initiative, becoming part of a global network that includes carriers, shippers, terminals, forwarders, and technology providers. This collaboration aims to unify the container shipping industry around open digital standards. The DCSA+ program offers a structured platform for partners to connect and contribute to the development of scalable digital solutions tailored to the container shipping ecosystem.

As an official partner, LR will focus on developing the Operational Vessel Schedules (OVS) standard, which seeks to enhance visibility and coordination throughout the vessel schedule value chain. Nick Gross, LR’s Global Container Ship Segment Director, emphasized that joining DCSA positions the organization at the forefront of digital transformation in the sector. The collaboration aims to create dependable and scalable digital solutions that improve operational efficiency and make data more accessible for all stakeholders.

Mariana Bock-Losada, Chief Growth Officer at DCSA, noted that LR’s technical and operational expertise adds significant value to the DCSA+ community. Additionally, Jeremy Daoust from OneOcean expressed eagerness to collaborate with DCSA to enhance maritime operations through their extensive digital solutions.
