The Coast Guard and Texas General Land Office are addressing an oil spill near Galveston, Texas, which occurred on Tuesday. The incident was reported around 9:50 p.m. after a vessel collided with Pier 32 at the Port of Galveston, leading to a discharge of fuel oil. The source of the spill has been secured.
Authorities are currently investigating the volume of the spill. The Coast Guard, in collaboration with the Texas General Land Office and the responsible party, Forestwave Navigation BV, has deployed personnel and assets to manage the situation.
