Pulsar International and Inmarsat Maritime, a subsidiary of Viasat, have announced a significant advancement in their ongoing partnership. Pulsar has committed to implementing the NexusWave service across over 300 vessels within the next year, marking a key milestone in their collaboration.
As the first NexusWave partner in the Mediterranean region, Pulsar has established a strong record of successful installations of this service. NexusWave, Inmarsat’s advanced multi-network solution, integrates GEO Ka-band, LEO, LTE, and L-band technologies to ensure reliable connectivity. This secure infrastructure enables shipping companies to enhance digitalization efforts, promote decarbonization initiatives, and improve crew welfare by providing internet experiences akin to those at home or in an office.
To facilitate this ambitious rollout, Pulsar plans to expand its global presence, enhance local sales teams, and bolster project management and service delivery capabilities. This expansion aims to ensure that customers experience seamless planning, installation, and continuous support.
With installations set to begin in October 2025, this initiative is expected to play a crucial role in helping shipping operators create a robust digital ecosystem onboard, ultimately improving operational resilience and crew welfare at sea.
