Swedish company eMarine is set to integrate 1,500 ABB NINVA™ non-invasive temperature sensors into its advanced energy management solutions for the maritime sector. This partnership marks the debut of ABB’s innovative NINVA technology in the global marine industry, aimed at enhancing efficiency and sustainability for cruise and cargo operators worldwide.
The NINVA sensors will optimize heat recovery and manage cooling water and ventilation systems on vessels, leading to reduced fuel consumption and lower CO₂ emissions. Designed to withstand marine conditions with enhanced vibration resistance, these sensors offer the same accuracy as traditional invasive thermowells without the need to perforate pipe walls.
Ola Persson, CEO of eMarine, emphasized the company’s commitment to providing innovative solutions that drive real energy savings. By collaborating with ABB, eMarine aims to equip the maritime industry with advanced tools for decarbonization.
Dr. Guruprasad Sosale from ABB’s Measurement & Analytics division highlighted that this initiative is a significant step in bringing non-invasive temperature measurement to the marine sector. ABB, a leader in electrification and automation, continues to facilitate sustainable practices across industries with its cutting-edge technologies.
