Plug and Play has teamed up with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) to drive innovation, digitalization, and decarbonization in the maritime industry. This partnership aims to enhance Singapore’s maritime innovation ecosystem by supporting startups, encouraging corporate involvement, and fostering a community of innovators and stakeholders. By leveraging Plug and Play’s network and expertise, MPA can identify promising startups, introduce new technology solutions, and solidify Singapore’s position as a leading innovation hub in the maritime sector.
Jupe Tan, Managing Partner, APAC at Plug and Play Tech Center, highlighted the significance of this collaboration, stating that they have successfully worked with over 500 startups and are expanding their Maritime program to Singapore in partnership with MPA. This move strengthens Plug and Play’s global presence in one of the world’s key maritime hubs.
The partnership will also enhance PIER71, a maritime innovation ecosystem initiative led by MPA and NUS Enterprise. Plug and Play’s expertise and network will boost corporate participation, support promising startups, facilitate industry collaborations, and accelerate the adoption of cutting-edge maritime solutions. By connecting startups with industry players, the aim is to drive digitalization, decarbonization, and efficiency in the maritime sector, creating more opportunities for startups to test and scale their solutions.
