The UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI), through its National Maritime Centre (NMC), has partnered with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) to enhance maritime operations. This collaboration, formalized via a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to integrate space technology with maritime monitoring, improving traffic management and ensuring safety in UAE waters. The agreement was signed during GITEX GLOBAL 2025 by Eng. Mohammed Al Mansoori and Salem Humaid Al Marri.

The MoU is part of a broader initiative to unify the space and maritime navigation sectors, utilizing satellite imagery for vessel tracking and environmental observation. It aims to develop intelligent systems that combine space data with real-time navigation information, enabling better risk analysis and emergency response at sea. Additionally, the collaboration includes training programs to build national expertise in space data analysis and navigation systems.
