Iris Innovations, a leader in marine camera technology, has unveiled Photon, a compact ultra-low-light 4K night vision camera aimed at enhancing nighttime navigation for boaters. This innovative device allows for safe cruising after dark, early fishing trips, and remote coastline patrols, providing clear, full-color imagery in near-total darkness without relying on infrared or thermal imaging.

Photon outperforms traditional thermal cameras, particularly in low thermal contrast conditions, with a minimum illumination sensitivity of just 0.0003 lux. This enables it to capture detailed video even under starlight, ensuring optimal visibility and situational awareness in real-world environments.

Designed for the marine setting, Photon is EN60945 EMC compliant and rated IP67, ensuring durability against saltwater and harsh weather conditions. Its Power over Ethernet (PoE) connectivity simplifies installation, complemented by a rugged, waterproof PoE injector for reliable setup.

Compatible with major navigation systems like Raymarine, Navico, Furuno, and Garmin, Photon integrates seamlessly into modern helm displays. Iris Innovations plans to launch the Photon camera at METSTRADE 2025 in Amsterdam this November, with global availability through its dealer network starting at the end of the month. The camera comes with a standard 12mm lens and an optional 2.8mm super wide-angle lens for versatile viewing options.
