The US Coast Guard has joined Operation Ika Moana, a maritime surveillance effort led by the Samoan police in coordination with the Pacific Sea Safety Program in Apia, Samoa.
This operation saw participation from representatives of multiple nations, including Tuvalu, Kiribati, Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu, and the Cook Islands.
Observers from Timor-Leste, Palau, Nauru, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Papua New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands also took part in the initiative, highlighting a regional collaboration on maritime safety.
The exercise underscores the importance of international partnerships in enhancing maritime security in the Pacific region.
